What is Homeopathy
Homeopathy is an independent healing method.
It does not fight the symptoms but the cause.
Homeopathy = similar suffering
Even Hippocrates understood thetheory of similarity principle.
The German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann (1755 – 1843), who was a chemist and a pharmacologist, developed and tested the similarity principle as it is used in homeopathy today.
The declaration of similarity principle „Similia similibus curentur“ is easy:
The substance that causes the disease symptoms can cure the disease when given.
In the 200 year old healing method, the illness is considered the disorder which affects the whole being. Symptoms only serve as the guide to the origin of the illness. Together with the symptoms, the trained homeopath considers the patient’s individual personality traits. Stress, fear, worry, lifestyle and many more influence a person’s vital force. In context we can create the overall picture that leads us to the suitable homeopathic remedy (Similimum).
Hahnemann observed that the vital force (intangible organization principle) controls one’s life process and harmonizes. It is the parent control principle which protects us from illnesses and gives us immunity. If our vital force is weakened the basis for illness is then created. Classical homeopathy considers every human being as unique. Each patient is perceived as an individual personality and, according to a thorough case history, receives a single homeopathic remedy selected according to the individual overall symptoms.
A FURTHER IMPORTANT ASPECT:
in Classical Homeopathy is the correct healing process. Disappearance of symptoms cannot be automatically connected to the healing. Frequently symptoms are repressed which can cause illness at a deeper level. To avoid this, the course after the Hering’s Law is determined. The correct healing flows from inside to the outside, from top to bottom and the symptoms disappear in the reverse order of their occurrence.
THE MOST IMPORTANT PRINCIPLE IS:
“Similia similibus curentur” - like cures like. When a healthy person takes a homeopathic remedy over a longer period of time a symptom is produced which is specific to the substance taken (remedy proving). This medicine has the power to heal similar symptoms.
HOW IS HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINE PRODUCED?
The starting substance of homeopathic medicine is, amongst other things, plants, minerals and metals. These are gradually diluted, in which the substance gains in strength and is now spoken of as potency. The healing power of the substance unfolds through potency. Depending of the complexity of the disease, the potency of the medicine can be changed accordingly during the treatment.
The most common dosage form are globules which consist mostly of sugar or Xylitol. They serve as a carrier to the effective, potentiated substance. Additional forms are also administered as drops.
WHAT CAN A HOMEOPATHIC TREATMENT DISTURB?
During a homeopathic treatment it is sensible to abstain from certain substances. They can, in certain circumstances, interfere with the healing process of the homeopathic remedy.
Caffeinated drinks such as Coffee or Coke
Drinks, sweets, toothpaste, anoint, bath additives, inhalants with strong ethereal oils like menthol or eucalyptus, campfor and various mints
Antibiotics and other pharmaceutical drugs
Cardiovascular agents that contain campfor (eg Corodin)
Herbal teas with mint, chamomile etc.
Excessive intake of alcohol
Environmental toxins
Anesthesia (also at the dentist’s)
Psychological pressure-, Stress situations
IN HOMEOPATHY, THE RAW MATERIALS USED ARE, AMONGST OTHERS, PLANTS, MINERALS AND METALS. THESE ARE THEN GRADUALLY DILUTED AFTER EXACT REQUIREMENTS (POTENTIATION). THE FULL HEALING POWER OF THE SUBSTANCE IS THEN RELEASED THROUGH THIS MANUFACTURING PROCESS.
Homeopathy is often equated with naturopathy, herbalists, or even esoteric but by its method it has nothing at all to do with these; nor with acupuncture, reflexology, Bachflowers or kinesiology etc.
